Racketball championship update - semi finals and finals

Hi all,

I hope everyone is enjoying the great weather we are currently experiencing.

Do you know what else is great? The Racketball Championship is !
The final week has seen the first and some of second round matches being completed and we are getting closer to know who the semi-finalists are.

In the main competition:
#1 seed, Richard has booked his place following his defeat of Tim, as has #3 Robin who overcame club squash champ Chris 3 games to 1. Chris has announced his racketball retirement to focus on his squash game, or was that poker?
#4 seed George will now have to overcome wildcard entry Rory who beat Tony 3-2 in a marathon match with one game going to 22-20. And finally we are all waiting the result of #2 Rob v Gary.

In the plate competition:

John and Bob couldn't wait for semi-finals night to play their game, so played last Friday with John succeeding through to the final. The other semi-final will be a humdinger, with David (me) v Tony. Two players who have over the past consumed more than their own body weight in Guinness and it's starting to show. [although if George loses to Rory, George will have to playTony for the semi-final slot].

So, give yourself a break from the sunshine and come down to the club on Friday 9th for the semi-finals.

And Saturday 10th, Finals night :

5.45 Plate final

6.30 Main Final

There will be a small presentation afterwards.

I will ask that the bar be open for both nights (hopefully the team has left some for the rest of us)
